Description
Rainbow Moonstone is the trade name for a variety of labradorite that displays a multi-colored adularescence over a light body color. It belongs to the same extended family of feldspar as moonstone, but is technically a variety of labradorite rather than orthoclase. This iridescent sheen occurs when light interacts with microscopic mineral layers within the stone, producing flashes of spectral rainbow colors across the surface. These closeout cabochons are commercial grade, making them a practical option for practice settings, student work, or value-priced finished pieces. Clean with warm, soapy water only—avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners.
