This oval bezel block features an 80% ratio, meaning the width of each hole is 80% of its height — a proportion especially well-suited for cabochon gemstones. With 11 graduated hole sizes ranging from 4mm x 3.2mm up to 14mm x 11.2mm, this block covers a broad range of bezel-setting needs in a single compact tool.

Otto Frei also offers oval bezel blocks in 75% and 60% ratios. The 75% ratio is historically popular and more closely matches faceted gemstone shapes, while the 80% ratio has become the preferred choice for cabochon work.

Bezel blocks are an essential bench tool for quickly forming precise bezel settings for faceted stones and cabochons. These Italian-made bezel blocks are crafted from specially hardened steel for durability and accuracy. A matching oval 17° punch is included. Because punches can break under normal use, replacement punches are available for all blocks.
