Stone Setting

I just started to read the book and so far it is fascinating. I have most of the tools as I am a jewelry metalsmither. The book is well written and it explains to the beginner and to the advanced every step precisely.

Great step by step, even for beginners

I have several of Alan Revere's books and they are all great. This book takes you from the very beginning, starting with the tools you will need, where to get them or how to make them yourself and shows you the basic techniques for setting different types of stones in different types of pieces. The pictures do a great job showing the techniques and the descriptions are very precise, explaining how to perform each step and why.

Best Stone Setting resource a MUST have !

I truly love this book. Alan made it easy for anyone to follow step by step process for different stone setting techniques. The photos at each step of the process are priceless. Especially for visual learners like myself photos give extra confidence that the step was done right. There are various difficulty projects throughout the book and each one of them is described with detail and photos. I personally like the cluster setting and 6 prong setting one. Alan also shows photos of proper tool and hand placement and talks about gravers, their sharpening and best techniques. Much recommended!
