• Rust in Sight Glass: Rust inside the water gauge is normal for cast iron tanks and doesn’t affect steam quality. Keep the tank full daily to minimize exposure to air.
• Blowouts: Regular blowouts are essential to remove mineral buildup and extend heating element life. Follow your owner’s manual for safe blowout procedures under minimal (≤10 PSI) pressure.
• Leaks: Common leak points are the sight glass, fill and drain valves, and safety valve. Replace worn gaskets, valves, or the entire sight glass kit to restore full pressure integrity.
