The Bench Mounted Wire Cutting Jig is a precision tool designed for jewelers and metalsmiths who require consistent, repeatable wire cuts in their bench work. Particularly well suited for granulation work and other techniques demanding exact wire lengths, this Italian-made jig brings professional-grade accuracy to fine wire cutting tasks.
Three dedicated cutting holes accommodate wire diameters of 1.0mm (.040"), 1.2mm (.047"), and 1.5mm (.059"). An adjustable cutting stop allows for repetitive cuts of the same length ranging from 8mm to 65mm (2‑1/2"). For cuts under 7mm — down to as small as 1mm — the stop is not in use; these smaller cuts can be made skillfully by hand and by sight after measuring and marking the wire beforehand.
The jig mounts securely to a workbench via a sturdy base with four mounting holes. It can also be removed from the base and mounted in a vise using the two hex nuts that attach the jig to the base. A hex key is included for locking the adjustable cutting stop.
Note: This jig is not recommended for cutting hollow tubes unless the tubes are internally supported with wire. Mounting screws are not supplied.
