These 5" box joint side cutters from Value Line deliver exceptional performance at a price well below comparable professional cutters. Manufactured in Pakistan, they feature a classic box joint construction with leaf springs for smooth, consistent operation. The beveled-edge jaws are reinforced with tungsten carbide inserts, making these cutters significantly more capable than standard carbon steel tools — ideal for cutting harder metals such as nickel-based wire, in addition to soft non-ferrous metals like copper, gold, and silver wire.
Tungsten carbide is substantially harder than regular carbon steel, providing added strength, edge retention, and long-term durability under demanding bench conditions. The beveled edge design also makes these jaws considerably stronger than flush-cut cutters, reducing the risk of chipping or premature wear.
Important: Side cutters should not be used for cutting sheet metal. Always wear eye protection when cutting wire. For maximum service life, cut as deep into the jaws as possible.
