Tiger's Eye is part of the quartz family and is a popular gem due to being readily available, inexpensive and ideal for everyday wear. Tiger's Eye is one of the top-selling gems due to its "eye" optical effect or chatoyancy. When light reflects off the gem's fibrous structure, the appearance of a wavy eye is seen. Known as the "All-seeing Eye", Tiger's Eye comes in the warm, earthy tones of brown, brownish-yellow and reddish brown. Clean with warm, soapy water. Use of ultrasonic and steam cleaner is usually safe.
