Product Details

These Cobalt Steel Twist Drills offer longer tool life than standard high speed steel, making them ideal for repeated drilling in both hard and soft metals. Harder and more wear-resistant than HSS, cobalt steel performs especially well in nickel-based white golds, stainless steels, and other tough alloys. Mounted on 3/32" (2.35 mm) shanks, they allow fast, convenient changes in fixed collet and quick change handpieces commonly used in jewelry work.

Features

  • Cobalt steel construction for extended tool life compared to HSS
  • Excellent performance in nickel-based white golds and stainless steels
  • Long service life when drilling yellow gold, silver, brass, and copper
  • Mounted on 3/32 in (2.35 mm) shanks for quick tool changes
  • Compatible with fixed collet and quick change handpieces
  • Sold individually by the piece

Notes

  • Use appropriate speeds and lubrication when drilling harder alloys to maximize tool life.
  • Because cobalt steel is harder and more brittle than HSS, apply steady pressure and avoid excessive side loading.
