Ferris File-A-Wax Square Blocks are the carving wax of choice for master jewelers and modelmakers working in the lost wax casting process. Each block measures 3-9/16" (90.5mm) × 3-9/16" (90.5mm) × 2-3/8" (60.3mm), providing ample material for rings, cuff links, pendants, medallions, and other detailed wax models.
These waxes are easily sawed, carved, drilled, milled, and turned on a lathe. They burn out cleanly from molds, stand up to rough handling, and will not soften in the hands during carving. All formulas share an approximate melting point of 240°F. Available in five color-coded hardness formulas — from soft and flexible Blue to harder Gold (also known as Wolf Wax) — so you can match the wax to your technique and application.
Must be burned out of investment molds. Not for use in steam de-waxers.
