Product Details

The Foredom H.15D hammer handpiece with duplex spring is an excellent choice for jewelers who need a hammer handpiece, but can't justify spending more for the top of the line Badeco Swiss made reciprocating hammer handpiece. Supplied with a hardened tip. Foredom hammer tips are interchangeable with the Swiss-made Badeco hammer handpiece so you have lots of choices of tips.

The Foredom H.15D hammer handpiece is a reciprocating rather than rotary action handpiece. It is used primarily for stone setting but can also be used for texturing, most often with the pave point (diamond tip) accessory, Otto Frei part number 153.195. The diamond tip will produce a bright cut stippled effect. You can also use this handpiece with the Foredom Carbide Tip (HP10212 Otto Frei part number 134.301) for marking or inscribing hardened steel. Threads on these tips are 4-48 US thread, the same as the popular Badeco tips. Use at low speed only (0-5,000 rpm) You must run this device using a Low Speed High Torque Foredom motor item 134.159. This will extend the life of the duplex spring. Remember the pedal controls speed not power. The Foredom H.15 hammer handpiece has a 1/32" stroke and its impact force can be adjusted from light to heavy by rotating the silver knurled adjusting ring. Requires periodic lubrication with MS10005-Handpiece Lube, Otto Frei part number 134.343.

Before choosing the duplex spring model please read the following: Duplex springs, and all parts related to the USA made duplex spring connections, have no warranty. Duplex springs should not be bent beyond 45 degrees during use! Duplex springs can be damaged easily if operated beyond the 45 degree angle or during detaching the handpiece from the end of the flex shaft. Duplex springs can also fail during normal use. If you choose a duplex spring model, you may want to purchase additional inner duplex springs (Single piece part number 134.279 Foredom HP76-Pack of 12 part number 134.280 Foredom HP76B) and learn how to change out and replace the inner duplex spring, the most common part that can fail.

Please note that duplex springs have no warranty.
