Foredom's new Series M.LX-2 Chisel Carving Kit comes with the M.LX-2 230V permanent magnet high torque/low speed Series M. LX-2 flex shaft motor, the C.EMX-2 230V table top dial speed control in plastic housing, the H.50 Chisel handpiece and three different chisel sets (17 chisels total). Also included are flex shaft grease and an accessory tray.

Foredom LX Motor: The Foredom Series LX motors are best for jobs that require extra torque at low speed up to 5,000 rpm, like chisel carving and stone setting. The M.LX motors are permanent magnet and work with the same speed controls as the series TX. They do not work with Series SR speed controls. The Foredom Series LX uses a different style plug meant to be used with the TXR, SXR and EMX speed controls. These controls look the same as the Foredom speed controls for the Series SR, however they have special electronics that convert AC current from an electrical outlet to DC current, the type of current required by the LX motor. This chisel kit comes with the Foredom C.EMX-2 Table top dial control 230V.

Foredom H.50 Chisel Handpiece: Foredom's Chisel Handpiece is designed to give a power assist to carving projects in all types of wood, plastic, plaster and soft carving stone. The H.50 is a reciprocating hammer type handpiece that requires a light pressure to engage the hammering chisel action. It attaches in the same manner to any Foredom or other flex shaft with a standard (USA) key tip shaft. it is shaped like the popular H.44T but has its own unique and rugged textured plastic barrel and tapered aluminum tip. Since the H.50 should not be run at high speeds, the LX series motors, with their built in 5000 rpm limit, are perfect for use with the chisel handpiece. The Chisel handpiece also requires a constant speed, and that is why this kit comes with the EMX table top dial control.
