The Foredom K.BL-DCH is a compact variable speed bench polishing lathe designed for professional jewelers, metalsmiths, and finishing technicians who need precise speed control across a wide range of polishing and buffing tasks. Many modern polishing wheels — including platinum polishing wheels and 3M FX polishing wheels for gold and silver — perform best at lower speeds, making variable speed control essential rather than optional.
This lathe is equally at home on a workbench or at a stand-up polishing station. The 1/6 hp high-torque permanent magnet motor runs exceptionally quiet and smooth, delivering ample power across its full speed range. The cast iron base features mounting holes and suction cup feet to keep the unit firmly anchored during use. Precision-machined right-hand and left-hand tapered spindles accept buffs and wheels up to 4" in diameter. The included dust collector hoods connect to most standard dust collection systems or shop vacuums, completing a compact, self-contained polishing setup.
Low-speed capability opens possibilities for light lapidary work and delicate finishing tasks. Opals, cameos, and other sensitive customer keepsakes benefit greatly from the gentle touch that low RPM provides. 3M Radial Bristle discs and texturing wheels also perform exceptionally well at reduced speeds. The versatility of this variable speed motor makes it a compelling addition to virtually any professional shop.
