Fretz BF-1 Wavy Brass Form

The Fretz BF-1 Wavy Brass Form is a pre-cut bracelet blank designed by master metalsmith Bill Fretz. This distinctive wavy profile is the exact shape Fretz uses in a series of jewelry projects first featured in the January/February 2014 edition of Lapidary Journal/Jewelry Artist Magazine. The blank arrives ready to work — already cut, edge sanded, and tumbled — so you can move directly into forming, texturing, and finishing without prep work.

The BF-1 is the first in a line of creative brass blanks from Fretz, designed to open up a wide range of bracelet design possibilities. Its wavy form can be shaped into both concave and convex profiles, and the length can be cut shorter to accommodate smaller wrist sizes. At 19 gauge, the BF-1 reflects the recommendation of noted instructor Hans Christiansen, who identified this thickness as ideal for hollow-ware work — heavy enough for structural integrity, light enough to form with ease.
