The Fretz–Michael Good CP-1 is a cross pein planishing hammer designed for anticlastic raising. Made to Michael Good’s specifications at the Fretz hammer & stake factory in Vietnam, the CP-1 features a long, slightly curved head that promotes a smooth, arcing stroke for predictable strikes along flowing curves. A 250 mm (10") handle gives ample leverage for extended forming sessions.

Why the CP-1

  • Long, gently curved head for controlled planishing on anticlastic forms
  • Narrow face targets thin concave curves; the heavier/thicker face adds useful heft
  • Optimized for use on nylon sinusoidal stakes; also works with metal stakes and anvils
  • Face geometry complements the CP-2; together they offer four distinct face dimensions
