Glardon-Vallorbe Half-Round Escapement Files - LE3008

Glardon-Vallorbe Half-Round Escapement Files (LE3008) are Swiss-made precision files designed for watchmakers, jewelers, and metalsmiths demanding the highest level of accuracy and finish. Also known as watchmakers files, these half-round files are tapered in both width and thickness, coming to a rounded point at the tip, and are cut on both sides for versatile material removal. The square handle provides a secure, controlled grip during fine detail work.

Escapement file lengths are measured from the tip to the end of the cut — the tang is not included in this measurement. Dimensions given are at the thickest point. These files are identified internationally as Half Round – Mediacana – Mironde – Halbrund.

Manufactured using a combination of machine cutting and hand craftsmanship, Glardon-Vallorbe files are produced from the finest heat-tempered, chrome alloy steel. They are graded by cut number: the higher the number, the finer the cut. Cut grades range from #2 (Medium) through #10 (XXXFine), allowing professionals to select the precise tooth geometry required for each task.
