Pippin precision files are tapered in both width and thickness, combining the cross-sections of a round file and a crossing file while incorporating the edge profile of a knife file. This distinctive geometry makes pippin files the ideal choice for finishing the junction between two different curved surfaces and for opening slots where a "V" shape is required. Measurements listed are taken at the thickest point of the file.
