Square files are gradually tapered and cut on all four sides. Cut and usable to the point. 

Starting in 2015 Grobet Needle Files are no longer made in Switzerland but are made in Italy.  Looking for the original Grobet Swiss Made files? Needle file lengths are measured from tip to tip including the handle section (tang).
