Product Details

Ikohe Combination Belt & Disc Sander (Part # 111.805) steps up from the classic Ikohe Belt Sander by adding a 3" disc sander with a fixed 3/32" tool arbor—like having a steady handpiece holder at your bench. It runs off your USA key-tip flex shaft (sold separately) and uses the same 1" belts you already know.

Highlights

  • Two tools in one: 1" belt sander for fast, flat shaping + 3" disc station for facing, truing and detail work.
  • Fixed 3/32" arbor at the disc: mount standard mandrel tools (wheels, laps, etc.) for lathe-like control.
  • Bench-friendly footprint: jewelers-sized unit with included bench clamp for secure mounting.
  • Dust collection aid: flexible arm with acrylic capture tube to position above your collector hose.

What’s included

  • Combination Belt & Disc Sander head with bench clamp
  • Fixed 3/32" arbor & collet at disc station
  • Two wrenches for arbor/collet adjustments
  • Flexible dust-collection arm with acrylic capture tube

Requirements

  • Flex shaft: USA key-tip style (motor/shaft not included). Remove your handpiece and engage the key tip directly into the sander.
  • Belts: Not included. Use 1" × 10-1/2" (25.4 × 267 mm) belts. Recommended starter set: Part # 111.821 (set of 5 Ruby belts).
  • PSA discs: Make your own 3" discs with 1/2" center hole from pressure-sensitive adhesive sheets. Recommended variety kit: Part # 111.268KIT.

Specs

  • Belt size: 1" × 10-1/2" (25.4 × 267 mm)
  • Disc diameter: 3" (use PSA discs with 1/2" center hole)
  • Arbor/collet at disc: 3/32"

Setup & operation

  1. Mounting: Clamp the unit where you have good access (the bench-pin area is often ideal).
  2. Belt install: Loosen the center knob to drop tension, fit the belt, re-tension, then tighten the opposite set screw before powering on.
  3. Flex shaft connection: Remove your handpiece, align the key tip into the sander, and seat fully. To release, pull the sander’s silver sheath back and gently withdraw the cable.
  4. Disc use: Cut PSA discs to 3" Ø with 1/2" center hole. For the 3/32" arbor, use the two included wrenches—one on the arbor, one on the sheath—to loosen/tighten the collet and secure your mandrel tool.
  5. Dust capture: Screw in the flexible arm and position the acrylic tube near the work; place your collector hose underneath for effective pickup.

Bench tips

  • Use light pressure and a grit progression (e.g., 80 → 120 → 180 → 240 → 320) for fast, cool cutting and clean flats.
  • Refresh belts and discs as they dull to maintain accuracy and surface quality.
  • Keep wrenches handy for quick arbor swaps; re-check belt tension after initial run-in.
