Product Details

Successful pen plating requires precise micro-amperage control, something that is very rare to find in most rectifiers used in the jewelry industry. That why you need a purpose built micro amp rectifier so you can be sure of repeatable premium results when pen plating.

The Ikohe Pen Plating Machine is a well built sturdy pen plating system that features micro amp voltage regulation combined with a LED Voltmeter. The analog micro amperage dial controls from 10/100 to 100/100, or 1 amps. You can get the exact voltage you need when doing rhodium pen plating and for doing gold pen plating for the best possible results.

The Ikohe pen plater is housed in a heavy gauged steel platform that measures 7" wide by 8" deep by 3" tall.  It includes 3 glass jars with lids for storing pen plating solutions or you can simply replace the glass jars with the popular "pen pals" plastic jars of pen plating solutions that we sell.  The Pen Pals fit right in the holes. The system includes one standard* wire platinum anode plating pen and one clamp wire with alligator clip.  The box has plug ins for 2 pens and 2 clamp wires.  The Ikohe Pen Plater is made by ALEX Machine of Istanbul Turkey and carriers Ikohe's 12 month warranty.

Instructions for use:

For successful pen plating, felt tips used on the pens need to be well soaked in special pen plating solutions.  You cannot use regular plating solution for pen plating.  Never touch the felt tips with your fingers or you will contaminate your tip and in turn contaminate your pen plating solution.  One tip-one solution-never use the same tip with two different solutions. The items being plated must be perfectly polished and absolutely clean before attempting plating.  Use steam cleaning and ultrasonic cleaning before dipping the item in a solution of Electrocleaner or Tivaclean then allowed to dry.  The item being plated must be touching the alligator clip clamp wire that is plugged into one red colored connector when the plating pen is connected to the black connector next to the red on.  Start with low amps and increase as you see fit.  Too much voltage and the plating results may appear darker or "burned".

*Ikohe also has a premium platinum anode plating pen that features a larger surface of platinum.
