Top Quality Italian Disk Cutter Set-18 Punches from 2.0mm to 12.0mm

These disk cutters are used to cut out perfectly round disks of metal. For best results they should be used in some sort of press, like a hydraulic press, but they will work find with a mallet if care is taken. As with all disk cutter sets, the smallest punches are the easiest to break, so please be careful, as the individual punches are not guaranteed. Replacement punches are sold separately.

This Italian Made disc cutter set is made for jewelers and is recommended for cutting soft precious metals, such as gold and silver up to 18 gauge thick. Other jewelry metals such as copper, brass, and thin sheets of nickel silver can also be cut using care and common sense. This Italian made metric calibrated round disc cutter set is very well made with punches made of hardened tool steel.  Punches have sharp straight edges on the cutting surface and a nail type striking head and are made to extremely close tolerances. This disk cutters can be disassembled to help remove punches that become stuck in the cut metal.

The Punch Sizes are: 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm, 3.5mm, 4.0mm, 4.5mm, 5.0mm, 5.5mm, 6.0mm, 6.5mm, 7.0mm, 7.5mm, 8.0mm, 8.5mm, 9.0mm, 10.0mm, 11.0mm & 12mm covering a range from approximately 3/32" to 1/2".

The block is 105mm (4-1/8") in diameter. With punches in place, the disc cutter stands 72mm (2-3/8") tall.  Individual punches range in length from 71mm to 72mm (2-3/4").

How to use a disk cutter:
  • Use a disk cutter on top of a rubber pad for support.
  • Use a cutting lubricant, like Stay Sharp, to lubricate the cutting edges of the punch.
  • Use a suitable mallet, never a nail driving hammer. We suggest brass mallets.
  • Always support the opposite side of the cutter with a sheet of the same diameter metal that you are cutting. This will help keep the upper and lower parts of the disk cutter in alignment and help minimize material sticking in the disk cutter.
  • Do not exceed the maximum thickness recommended for your disk cutter.
  • Only cut soft non-ferrous metals like brass, copper, silver and gold.
  • Make sure your cutting edges are down.
  • To prevent rust, keep your disk cutter lubricated between use and store in a dry location
  • We recommend to use this with a 95 duometer urethane pad to extend the life of the cutters
