Cutting Edge Reference: The Lindstrom 80 Series is available in three cutting edge types. Understanding the differences helps ensure correct tool selection:

• Micro-Bevel: Slight bevel edge for increased strength. Leaves a small peak on one side of the cut wire. Widest cutting range and superior durability compared to flush cutters.
• Flush: Leaves a practically smooth cut on one side of the wire. More susceptible to damage if cutting limitations are exceeded.
• Ultra-Flush: Leaves a completely flat surface on one side of the cut wire. Most limited cutting range and greatest potential for edge damage due to misuse. The most delicate of all side cutter edge types.

Important: Lindstrom cutters are not guaranteed. Cutting capacity limits printed on the handles refer to soft copper wire only. Metal alloys commonly used in jewelry are significantly harder. All flush-style cutters are delicate by design.

If tip damage occurs, it is recommended to grind the undamaged side down to match the damaged side and continue use. Dents in the cutting surface indicate that the hardness of the material being cut exceeded the limits of the cutter. When used in jewelry applications, Lindstrom cutters — and comparable brands — should be regarded as consumable labor-saving devices.
