The Orca MP99 is a compact, portable, refillable butane torch that delivers the precision of the EZ Torch in a hand-torch form. It shares the same gas flow regulator and air-mixture control, giving a wider range of temperatures and flame sizes than typical refillable torches. Includes the small tip (114.252); medium (114.253) and large (114.254) EZ Torch tips are compatible and sold separately.

Tip Compatibility

Medium (optional) 114.253 General bench soldering
Large (optional) 114.254 Heavier heat, larger joints

Quick Start: Light & Adjust

  1. Set the air regulator fully closed (air holes not visible).
  2. Open the gas regulator ~½ turn until you hear gas.
  3. Ignite with a match/lighter/spark igniter.
  4. Add air with the air regulator and fine-tune fuel with the gas knob to get a stable blue flame (optimum economy ≈ 1" / 25 mm flame).
  5. Close the gas knob to extinguish. Keep closed when not in use.

Refueling (Torch Ships Empty)

  1. Use pressurized butane (e.g., Bernzomatic; see 114.214). Work in a well-ventilated, flame-free area.
  2. Ensure gas knob is fully closed (clockwise to stop).
  3. Invert both torch and butane can. Seat the can nozzle on the torch fill valve and press to fill.
  4. Do not fill longer than 30 seconds. Set upright and let stabilize 1–5 minutes before lighting.
  5. If gas sputters from the fill hole, slowly crack the gas knob to vent excess; wipe any residue before lighting.

Safety

  • Read instructions before operating. Keep out of reach of children.
  • Refuel only in ventilated areas away from ignition sources; butane is flammable.
  • Do not light if fuel is sputtering or if any fuel residue is present on the torch exterior.
  • Do not touch the burner while hot. Do not store or use above 105°F (40°C). Do not leave in sun.
