OTEC Walnut Shell Extra Fine Media H1/500 1 Lb Pack

OTEC walnut shell media is used for mirror-finish polishing of non-ferrous metals, jewelry, titanium and steel alloys. It can be used with all types of dry polishing equipment.  Sold by the Pound.

This walnut shell granulate (media) by OTEC is treated with a polishing paste so no additional paste is required until the 3rd or 4th use.  Then refresh with OTEC polishing paste 147.697.

The H1/500 media has walnut shell that is sized at 0.2 to 0.4mm, which is considered an extra fine grain.  It is used as the ultimate final step for dry polishing. Cycle times with a high speed OTEC disc finisher is about 2 hours. If used with standard vibratory tumblers you will have a longer cycle time. Maximum weight of an item being polished is 7-8 grams.

If finishing multiple items using the OTEC dry disc finisher it is important to suspend jewelry items in the media with the OTEC Drag finishing attachment top to avoid dents and scratches caused by pieces striking one another.
