Ottochem CR Blue is a mildly alkaline, ammonia-free ultrasonic cleaning concentrate formulated for the jewelry trade. It quickly removes buffing and polishing compounds (Tripoli, rouge, white diamond) from gold, silver, platinum, brass, copper, and rhodium without harsh fumes. Its blend of sequestrants, surfactants, and emulsifiers delivers strong cleaning performance while remaining economical and biodegradable.

Directions & Mixing

Standard Use Ratio 5–10% by volume (approx. 20:1 to 10:1 water:concentrate)
Strong Mix Up to 1:8 (1 part concentrate to 8 parts water)
Ultrasonic Temperature 120–140 °F (49–60 °C)
Ultrasonic Power ≥ 50 watts per gallon recommended
Make-Up Add concentrate to water in the tank or premix; stir and heat to operating temperature.
Rinse Always follow with a clean water rinse.
Bath Maintenance Maintain concentration by periodic additions as soil load increases.

Recommended Dilutions

20:1 (5%) General purpose cleaning
10:1 (10%) Polishing & buffing compound removal

Applications

  • Post-buff cleaning prior to finishing or stone setting
  • Pre-cleaning prior to plating
  • Shop maintenance cleaning of tools and fixtures (material-safe)

Caution

  • Mildly alkaline (pH 11–12). Avoid prolonged skin/eye contact; wash hands after handling.
  • Exercise caution with porous or chemically sensitive stones; test when in doubt.
  • Use appropriate PPE and follow equipment manufacturer guidelines.
