Ottoflex S Flex Shaft Kit-110V- Motor, No.30 Style Handpiece & Foot Control

I got this because I heard it is a good alternative to the foredom. No complaints so far; runs quiet, good power. The sheath on the flex shaft seems very durable and the foot pedal is nearly exactly the same as the foredom one. The hand piece is fine unless you want a really thin gripping area.

I am reviewing the handpiece separately from the motor and shaft because the handpiece has a serious, dangerous flaw. Foredom’ s hand-piece, on which this is based, has an outside aluminum sheath which covers the rotor teeth. The teeth are not covered by the sheath on this handpiece. The top of my finger slipped into the teeth while the hand piece was in use. The skin was pinched between the teeth and was getting pulled down into the device. It was painful and horrible. I suggest you buy the foredom original hand piece.

I couldn’t spend much on a rotary tool. I got this one and there are many things to recommend it. It is powerful, runs smoothly, and is very quiet, especially compared to my dremel.
On the down side, I didn’t notice that it doesn’t have a reverse. Or, an on off switch. I have to unplug it when I’m not using it, if I don’t, I could accidentally step on the foot control, causing the motor and handpiece to jump and run without me! Yikes.
