Oval Genuine Turquoise Cabochon (With Matrix)

Turquoise has been a prized gemstone for many cultures and civilizations, including Ancient Egyptians and the Native Americans. Colored by copper, which is responsible for the vivid blues and greens of Turquoise, the most prized color has been described as a Robin's-egg blue or a pure,vivid sky blue. Some turquoise has matrix present, which is a spiderweb of veins running thru the stone, evidence of the surrounding rock present during formation. Turquoise is one of the traditional birthstones for December.
