Peddiman 51 Embossing Hammer 500 Gram

The Peddiman 51 Embossing Hammer 500 Gram is a classic silversmithing tool for many reasons. Think of an embossing hammer as a double ended dapping tool on the end of a hammer. With power, speed and weight (500 grams) you can rapidly emboss or dome out a three dimensional form from the back of sheet metal. This is also a form of repousse'. The length of the hammer head (6.5" or 160mm) allows the user to reach deep into forms such as bowls and cups. Use it to start raising projects by sinking a metal disc into a depression.  Hand Forged spoons get started by using an embossing hammer in the center and radiate the hammer blows out moving metal in 360 degrees. Use the embossing hammer as A texturing tool to create a deep dimpled texture. The Peddiman embossing hammers are polished to a mirror finish.

The length of the head is 160mm and the face diameter is 24mm on one side and 27mm on the other.
