Portable Polariscope With Flashlight & Case

A polariscope is used to differentiate between singly (isotropic) and doubly refractive (anisotropoic) stones. A stone is placed between two polarizing filters and the top filter is then turned.

This portable polariscope includes a main body with a rotating lens on top and a diffused lens on the bottom. A third separate lens is included that sits above the bottom lens. These lenses have nothing to do with magnification. The flashlight attaches to the bottom of the main body, secured by a simple screw.

Also included is a zippered storage case. Made in China.
