White Sapphire is also known as colorless sapphire and is sometimes called a Leuco sapphire. Popular as a natural, inexpensive diamond substitute, white sapphire is corundum in its purest form. Differing amounts and combinations of trace elements cause most of the colors in sapphires. Traces of gray, yellow,blue, and brown can be present and the closer white sapphire is to colorless increases its value. Clean with warm, soapy water. Use of ultrasonic and steam cleaner is usually safe.
