Morganite varies in color from rose pink, peach and salmon to purplish pink and is a variety of the Beryl family, that also includes Emerald and Aquamarine. Morganite was named after the banker and gem enthusiast J.P. Morgan and is an excellent alternative to Kunzite and Pink Tourmaline. Morganite's color is due to the mineral manganese and is generally displayed in light pastel shades, with strong color being relatively rare. Avoid use of steam cleaner and ultrasonic. Clean with warm, soapy water.
