Single unit weight: -- lbs / -- kg
Make your own custom prong settings with precision and consistency. The Setting Making Jig features five different grooved heads, each with slots designed to help you lay out perfectly aligned wire prong settings in three, four, six, or eight prong configurations. Whether you're a bench jeweler crafting one-of-a-kind pieces or a production metalsmith building settings in volume, this jig streamlines the process of forming claw settings from wire.
Wire settings can be made in sizes ranging from 15 point (0.15 ct) to 2 carat (2.00 ct). To use the jig, position your wires in the appropriate grooved slots. You can apply an instant adhesive to temporarily hold the wires together—taking care not to bond the wires to the jig itself—then remove the assembled setting for soldering. The jig is also compatible with laser welders, tack welders such as PUK or Orion units, or traditional torch soldering.

When using instant adhesive to hold wires in place prior to soldering, ensure the adhesive is applied only between the wires—not between the wires and the jig—to allow clean removal of the assembled setting.
