Old Friends are The Best!

For all my adult years as a metalsmith, Otto Frei has always been there for me, helping me to purchase the supplies and equipment I've needed to run my jewelry business. Always polite and accessable, they make every effort to answer my questions and get my orders to me in the most efficient manner. I've known this company for 60 years, because my mother also knew and used them, and I've seen their many changes in ownership and location, but it has always had the same basic family feeling of loyalty and commitment to its customers, while many other companies I've dealt, through the years, have changed radically going for 'bigger, better corporate success, making ordering increasingly confusing and expensive, or offering inferior products and service as the economy and adverse times of the recent decade progressed. Otto Frei's commitment, loyalty, stability, business ethics, are increasingly rare and precious these days. I recommend to anyone, to 'check them out'.

Thank you so much for the nice review! We have had a few name changes that we have DBA as, (Otto Frei , then Otto Frei & Jules Borel, then Frei & Borel and then back to Otto Frei) but we have had only 'one' owner, the Frei Family. We have had 3 locations in Oakland since 1930, The Broadway Building, then 337 13th Street at 13th & Webster (first upstairs and then both upstairs/downstairs), and then our warehouse at 119 3rd Street. I almost forgot our 'branch' office in the SF Phelan building from 1970 to 2012. Thanks again for your nice words and kind thoughts. Steven Frei
