Description
The Magnesia Soldering Block gives the bench a fireproof, heat-reflective surface for soldering and melting non-ferrous metals. It is a non-asbestos, fibrous block made from magnesium oxide, and unlike a charcoal block it resists fracturing, so it needs no binding wire and no annealing with a reducing flame before use. The surface is soft enough to press pins or the work itself into, holding a piece in position while you solder. The block measures 6" long by 3" wide by 2" high.
It withstands temperatures up to 2000°F (1093°C), which suits it to melting and soldering non-ferrous metals including copper, silver, and gold.
