Thrumming with polishing string is the classic method for finishing around prongs, filigree work, and other hard-to-reach areas. This jewelers polishing string is very soft, so it will not scratch metal. Use it just like Mitchell's abrasive cord and tape — simply charge it with a polishing compound as you would a standard jeweler's buff, then work it back and forth through tight spaces to achieve a clean, bright polish.
