Mitchell's Polishing Tape is an essential abrasive tool for reaching tight, confined areas that standard polishing wheels and buffs cannot access. Use it to polish inside galleries, around prongs, and in other hard-to-reach recesses by cutting a length of tape, securing one end at your bench, holding the other end taut, and moving the workpiece back and forth against the tape. This flat tape profile makes it especially effective for working against flat or slightly curved interior surfaces.
Mitchell's abrasive products are available in round cord or flat tape form, across a range of diameters and grits. Aluminum Oxide and Silicon Carbide formulations are suited for pre-polishing and material removal, while Crocus is used for final polishing. Within the grit range, 120 grain is the coarsest and 200 grain is the finest, allowing you to progress through stages for a refined surface finish.
