These flex shaft straight-type split slotted mandrels are an excellent choice for jewelers and metalsmiths who prefer to craft their own custom inside ring sanders. With a 4.5mm head and 3/32" shank diameter, they are compatible with standard flex shaft handpieces. Simply wrap strips of 3M™ Utility rolls or any sanding paper cut to fit around the slotted head, wrap them tight, and glue the tops together. As the abrasive wears during use, tear back the paper to expose fresh grit—giving you precise control over your finishing process without having to stop and swap tools.
