2-Way Pearl Drilling Jig

The 2-Way Pearl Drilling Jig is a precision bench tool designed to hold pearls and beads securely while you drill from both ends—eliminating the rough "exit wound" that results from drilling straight through from a single side. Now made of nylon and offered at a new lower price, this jig delivers professional-quality results for jewelers and metalsmiths working with pearls, beads, and similar materials.

The jig accommodates pearls and beads up to 10mm in diameter with full centering capability. Larger beads and pearls up to 15mm in diameter can be held in the jig, though centering is not guaranteed at that size. Two brass holders are fitted at each end, each featuring a center hole sized to accept a pearl drill or high-speed steel twist drill bit up to 1.0mm in diameter. The 21mm brass holders can be modified to accept a thicker drill bit if needed. Note that certain short-style drill bits cannot be used—your drill must be longer than the 21mm brass holder to function correctly.

Precise positioning is achieved through two adjustment systems working together. One brass holder uses an adjustable mini-screw device for fine micro-adjustments to center the item being drilled, and a hex key is included for this purpose. Larger positional adjustments are made using the chrome knurled screws located on either side of the jig body.
