Wheel burs are among the most widely used burs in the jewelry industry, valued for their versatility in setting stones, cleaning seats, and shaping metal with precision. These burs are machine-made to ultra-high precision tolerances, producing a uniformly consistent cut that is smooth and clean with no chatter or drag.

Unlike High Speed Steel (HSS) burs, which are individually hand-cut and vary slightly from piece to piece, Tungsten Vanadium burs are manufactured to exacting mechanical standards, making each bur virtually identical to the next. This consistency is especially important for repetitive setting work. Note that while Tungsten Vanadium burs offer excellent precision and value, they are generally not as long-lasting as USA-made High Speed Steel burs. All burs in this set feature a standard 3/32" diameter shaft, compatible with most flex shafts and rotary handpieces used in professional jewelry studios.
