Turn polishing buffs and chucks at the bench at either of two fixed speeds, with no variable dial to drift out of setting. The Baldor 340 is a 1/4 HP, 2-speed polishing motor built for professional jewelers and metalsmiths who want reliable finishing equipment. It runs at either 1800 RPM (low) or 3600 RPM (high). This is a fixed 2-speed motor, not a variable speed motor. It runs on 115V/60Hz power and is engineered for years of continuous, trouble-free use in a demanding shop.

Baldor polishing motors use sealed ball bearings lubricated for life, which keeps dust and debris out of the motor and takes bearing maintenance off the list. The dynamically balanced rotor and shaft give vibration-free, exceptionally quiet operation, a meaningful advantage during a long polishing session. The Baldor 340 measures 13-1/8" end to end without spindles attached, with a shaft height of 4-11/16". It is made in the USA and backed by a full 3-year warranty. Compatibility

The Baldor 340 uses a tapered shaft made for friction-fit tapered spindles and chuck accessories. Set screw type spindles are not compatible with Baldor tapered shaft motors. To install, firmly tap the spindle or chuck onto the tapered shaft with a mallet or a piece of wood until the fit is snug. To remove, unscrew the spindle remover on the motor shaft until the spindle or chuck is pushed free.
