Tapered Spindles - Fits Baldor Tapered Shaft Motors

The Baldor Tapered Spindle is engineered specifically for use with Baldor tapered shaft polishing motors. Unlike standard polishing motors that use straight shafts secured with set screws, Baldor motors feature a slight taper on the shaft. These spindles are designed with a matching tapered inside diameter, creating a secure friction fit without the need for set screws.

Installation is straightforward: the spindle is pushed onto the tapered shaft and then lightly tapped into place using a mallet or a piece of wood. Removal is handled by Baldor's built-in screw-off spindle remover, located inboard of the shaft—when unscrewed, it pushes the tapered spindle off cleanly.

Important: Because the inside diameter is tapered, no ID measurement is provided for these spindles. These spindles are compatible exclusively with Baldor tapered shaft motors and will not fit straight-shaft motors.
