Make your own custom prong settings with precision and consistency. The Bergeon 6495-15 is a specialized aluminum jig designed for laying out and fabricating wire prong settings, ensuring perfectly symmetrical results every time. One end of the tool features 8 notches angled at 10 degrees, while the opposite end features 12 notches angled at 20 degrees. The grooves are precisely spaced so wire strips align evenly, making it easy to construct 4-prong, 6-prong, or custom prong configurations to suit your design.
To use, cut wire strips 20–30 mm long and place them into the grooves in your desired prong count arrangement. Secure the prongs with super glue or binding wire, and add gallery wire for additional support at this stage or later. Because the jig body is aluminum, it must be removed before torch soldering. For laser welding or PUK welding, welds can be made while the setting remains on the tool. Once assembled and joined, remove the setting, trim the wire ends to fit your stone, and finish as desired. The completed round setting can even be shaped in a bezel block to produce fancy shaped settings from the same fabricated base.
This listing is for the 15 mm diameter version. A 12 mm diameter version is also available separately.
