A knife edge bur cuts the narrow, controlled groove that shapes a seat edge and sharpens definition in precious metal, where a wider profile would remove too much. Busch Fig. 415 knife edge burs, also called lens burs, carry a 55° cutting angle for exactly that work and come in 24 sizes from 1.00 mm to 3.50 mm. They are made from tungsten vanadium steel to ultra high precision tolerances and are sold in multiples of six, so one unit is one 6 pack.
