Amber is an organic gem formed millions of years ago when sap from ancient pine trees hardened and fossilized. Amber artifacts date back to 10,000 BC, and amber has been called nature's time capsule — known to contain inclusions such as extinct plants and small animals. To be classified as amber, the tree resin must be at least one million years old; otherwise, it is considered Copal, an immature form of amber. Amber typically appears in yellow, gold, and brown tones, but can also occur in white, red, blue, or green.
These round cabochons display an orange color with eye-visible inclusions, giving each stone a natural, organic character. Because amber is relatively soft, it requires careful handling and setting. Clean with warm, soapy water only — avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners.
