These straight square shank STER hallmark stamps are precision cut from heat-treated tool steel and made in the USA. Designed for marking silver sheet that is no less than 0.925% silver, each stamp imprints the letters STER — an abbreviation for Sterling Silver. Straight stamps are intended for marking flat items. For marking the inside of rings, bent stamps are recommended. Note that the measurement refers to the height of the impression, not the width.
