Foredom M.LX Motor Only with Shaft & Sheath-230V

The Foredom M.LX Motor is a high-torque, low-speed flex shaft motor engineered specifically for professional jewelry stone setters and those who require maximum torque at reduced RPMs. This listing includes the motor, shaft, and sheath only — no handpiece and no speed control are included. This is a 230V export model intended for use in countries outside North America where 230V is the standard voltage.

The M.LX is a 1/10 HP permanent magnet ball bearing motor with a maximum speed of 5,000 RPM. It is the successor to the discontinued EE, R, and original L series motors, all of which were developed for the professional jewelry stone setter. Working at low speeds under heavy load demands a motor that delivers consistent torque without bogging down — the M.LX is purpose-built for exactly that.

The M.LX series is also well suited for use with hammer handpieces, such as the Badeco Swiss Made or Foredom 15-15D models, since hammer handpieces are designed to operate at lower speeds where this motor excels.

Motors ship with a standard-length key tip shaft and a flexible neoprene sheath, compatible with quick-disconnect handpieces from Foredom and other manufacturers including Badeco, Faro, and Swiss Made Technique. Build your own custom flex shaft setup by adding a compatible speed control and selecting your preferred handpiece separately.

Important: The M.LX motor must always be used with a compatible speed control — never plug it directly into an outlet. The LX series requires dedicated LX-series speed controls (such as the TXR, SXR, or EMX). These motors run on DC current converted from AC by special electronics in the control unit. SR series controls are not compatible and cannot be modified or adapted for use with LX or TX series motors. The shielded plug on LX/TX motors also differs from standard models.
