Fretz Progressive Stake F-2A Lining Convex Fluting Stake

The Fretz F-2A Lining Convex Fluting Stake is the first step in the Progressive Stake sequence, used after initial forming on the F-2 Doming Stake. Designed to begin the process of creating concave flutes, the F-2A establishes gentle, flowing concave curves without bringing the flutes to a sharp edge. This controlled, gradual approach protects the metal and allows the metalsmith to refine form incrementally.

The full progression continues with the F-2B Sharp Convex Fluting Stake and the F-2C, which successively bring the high points into sharper, more defined relief. The F-2A is the essential starting point in this series, laying the groundwork for precise, repeatable fluted forms.
