The Fretz M-133B Finishing Concave Fluting Stake is the second in a two-stake fluting sequence designed for concave bracelets and other curved forms. Used after the M-133A Roughing Concave Fluting Stake, the M-133B sharpens and refines the flutes established in the first pass. The round crest line left by the M-133A creates a guide track that keeps the sharper M-133B stake on course, preventing it from wandering during planishing. The result is a crisp, pristine flute with a refined surface finish.
These stakes are intended for use on work that has already been formed on the Fretz M-104 Large Concave Stake. The M-133A and M-133B together make it possible to create handcrafted random or uniform flutes on concave bracelet surfaces and similar shaped pieces. The final planish marks will vary depending on how forcefully the metal is struck and which hammer is selected.

The M-133B is designed for use after the M-133A Roughing Concave Fluting Stake (see part number for M-133A) and after initial forming on the Fretz M-104 Large Concave Stake (112.734). Compatible stake holders include the Fretz H-1 Miniature Stake Holder (112.600) and the Fretz H-1L Extended Reach Stake Holder (112.719) for bench or tabletop mounting. For deeper access, the Fretz T-101 Double Ended Stake Holder (112.721) or the Fretz E-101 Extender Stake Holder (112.726) may be used — note that both the T-101 and E-101 have larger tangs and require appropriately sized stake holders.
