Jasper is an opaque chalcedony that can display a variety of colors and patterns, making each stone unique and one-of-a-kind. Picture Jasper tends to come in rich autumn tones of oranges, browns, and yellows, and can appear in any color or combination of colors. Chalcedony is composed of tiny quartz crystals not visible to the unaided eye and has historically been used for carvings such as cameos and intaglios, as well as seals to authenticate documents in ancient times.
This oval cabochon features variegated brown and greyish-green coloration with distinctive angular banding. Because each stone forms naturally, no two are alike — every cabochon is truly one-of-a-kind.
