Snowflake Obsidian is named for its patches of white inclusions that resemble snowflakes. Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass, commonly gray to black in color. During prehistoric times, obsidian was widely used for knives, arrowheads, and spear points. These round cabochons display a striking opaque black base with distinctive white snowflake-pattern inclusions, making each stone visually unique. Clean with warm, soapy water only. Avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners.
