Glardon-Vallorbe Swiss Made Precision Files are the world's standard for quality and performance. Manufactured to precise production standards using a combination of machine cutting and hand craftsmanship, these files deliver the most accurate, best-cutting, and longest-lasting performance available. Made from the finest heat-tempered chrome alloy steel, they offer the right feel, action, and balance desired by true craftsmen — delivering superior results on all metals. Formerly distributed by Grobet USA under the Grobet Swiss label.
These Valtitan Warding Needle Files are parallel in thickness and taper in width, ending in a rounded point, with teeth cut on all edges. The 7" (180mm) file length makes them well-suited for detailed warding and slot work at the bench.
Valtitan files undergo a special treatment that increases hardness to 72 HRc on the Rockwell scale — the hardest steel file known. This treatment also makes the files corrosion resistant and longer lasting, while resisting metal accumulation in the teeth; a simple knock is typically enough to clear chips. Valtitan files are especially recommended for platinum and other hard metals such as stainless steel, though they perform excellently on all metals. Beginning in 2016, Valtitan files are identified by an imprinted VALTITAN marking on the tang rather than the earlier yellow painted tang.
